Full leather binding in alligator skin. All edges gilt. Decorative flower endpapers. 9 woodblock illustrations throughout the text depict moments from Edgar Allan Poe's life as well as scenes from within his poems. Additionally there are two facsimiles reproduced within the text, one which is a letter from Poe to Mrs. Marie Louise Shew, the other a poem draft of "The Bells".
