9"x6" staple-bound college catalogue. [3] 59pp.[2] plus six bound photograph plates and one laid in photograph of the college chapel and a newspaper photograph of two college building exteriors. Good condition. Exterior is comprised of coarse cardstock pasted to the spine with the name, year, and college emblem printed above "LaGrange, Georgia" on the front cover.

Some scuffing. Hinges are tight. Owner address sticker on front interior cover. Name is written on the front free-endpaper. Some writing, underlining, and other marginalia throughout, which in places, appears to be correcting and/or editorializing the printed text. Toward the back of the booklet where a list of alumnae are printed with their graduation year, someone has written notes, addresses, or the word "dead" beside some of the entries. Foxing and age-toning throughout. Small insignificant tears to pages 3, 7, and 59.

A wonderfully-written college catalogue for an institution which would close its doors 1917. Beautiful photographs of Victorian-era architecture which later burned in a fire. Of its location, the bulletin reads: "The Southern Female College is located at Lagrange, Ga., one of the most beautiful and cultured cities of the state, which possesses distinct advantages as a seat for an institution of learning...of ideal size for a college community, having a population of about 10,000 inhabitants... LaGrange is noted for its salubrious climate and general healthfulness. The temperature is mild and even. Sudden changes from warm to cold are rarely experienced. The winter climate is that of southern France."
