It all started when…
Pretty Good Books began as a humble consignment bookshelf at the Rivermarket Thrift and Antique in Valley, Alabama. We bought and sold books online for many years, going to estate sales, finding rare or fascinating books for others to enjoy, but this was our first foray into selling directly to customers in a store.
To our delight and surprise, our books were a hit! We could hardly keep them on our little shelf. Soon we had expanded to two shelves and were struggling to keep up with the demand. After careful planning, we decided that it was time to open a bookstore of our own.
We now have over 50,000 books for you to choose from, with more arriving every day.
At Pretty Good Books, our goal is to bring the joy and benefits of reading to everyone we can, from children to adults, from college students to retirees. Anyone can find a book they enjoy, and absolutely everyone should!
