Mary Ann Wilson’s Lecture Series: Revisiting Harper Lee

Title:  HARPER LEE REVISITED

Dates: Sundays November 9, 16, & 23

Time: 3-5pm

Location: The Grand Salon at Pretty Good Books

Text: The Land of Sweet Forever (Available for Preorder at Pretty Good Books)

The title is HARPER LEE REVISITED, and it will be based on a soon-to-be-published collection of Lee's short stories and essays—many of them never published before.  The title of the collection is THE LAND OF SWEET FOREVER, scheduled to be out  October 21.

Josh will of course have the books and will set up registration on the PGB site in November.

We will read these selections about Lee's time in New York, and her growing up in small town Alabama.  These predate TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD so they will give us insight into the writer's mind as she grew into her art.

We will of course watch video clips from her life and works, and discuss the iconic novel that has—along with THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN—been banned periodically from school curricula.  Lots to talk about!

Come spend these Sundays during this dead time of winter with us at PRETTY GOOD BOOKS.

FEE: $30 for 3 classes. $20 for 2. Or $10 for one class.

Complete the order to complete your registration. Simply choose the number of classes you'd like to attend and whether you would like to purchase the text with the class along with your registration. The text will be available for pick up at Pretty Good Books after the publication date of October 21st.

We Really love books

Like really love them. To an awkward and almost uncomfortable degree. Our deep affection for the written word has inspired us to open this business in LaGrange, mostly so we can spend our days surrounded by books and other people who love them too. If that sounds delightful, we hope you’ll stop by. ;)
